Run for a cause

by Nada Ahmed

from Individual

Our solution

The host community will organize a run every 3 months. Money will be raised from selling tickets to participate in the run events to raise funds for artisans from refugees and local community to provide them with the tools/machines and materials of craftwork (e.g. leather products, clay products, wooden artworks, etc…). Selling the final products will generate income for refugees and the local community.

What's the business opportunity for host and refugee community

The refugees will collaborate with the local community to sell their products online and inside Rwanda, for instance Rwandans, Tourists, international community, etc…

How has it been implemented and what impact it had

The same idea was implemented in Egypt which was very successful in raising funds to several causes, such as, heart foundation, breast cancer hospital, burn victims hospital, and children education. The project will increase the integration between the host community and the refugees, and provide them with income that will make them more resilient.
